Teeth Whitening
The best you can do to maintain your smile is to brush and floss everyday. Unfortunately, even if you’re diligent with brushing and flossing, sometimes we end up with less of a bright smile than we would like. Teeth can take on a darker appearance for various reasons such as the type of food and drinks you commonly eat, tobacco use, age, trauma, and medications. If you think that your smile is a little too dark, fortunately we provide various teeth whitening options.
Products used for teeth whitening either contain hydrogen peroxide or carbomide peroxide that help break down stains. Please keep in mind that tooth whitening doesn’t work on all teeth depending on their natural color or if you have crowns, veneers, or fillings. Be certain to speak with Dr. Dobrowski and his staff about your dental history if you’re considering teeth whitening so we may help provide a solution that will be best for you.
Types of Teeth Whitening
Stain Removal Toothpastes
Stain removal toothpastes are the most accessible option to help your smile. Although they don’t necessarily change the color of your teeth, they usually contain abrasive materials that may remove some surface stains.
At-Home Bleaching
At-home bleaching is what most people think of when considering teeth whitening. Dr. Dobrowski may recomend an at-home bleaching kit. Personalized trays will be made that adhere to your teeth, and then you will be provided personalized instructions and bleaching solutions. This is a slightly longer process that may involve a few weeks time.
In-Office Bleaching
In-office bleaching is a more professional whitening procedure that may involve only one visit. Dr. Dobrowski utilizes Polaoffice+, the worlds fastest bleach.
